Puppy Jake Foundation Program

Join us to learn about the Puppy Jake Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to help wounded military veterans with the assistance of well-bred and professionally trained service dogs. Veterans’ injuries may be invisible such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or physical mobility impairments. The Foundation advocates for increased awareness and accessibility for those accompanied by a service dog in everyday situations. At this event, you will learn what a service dog does, what it takes to raise a service dog, what to do if you see a service dog in public, Iowa laws regarding service dogs (including the difference between service dogs and emotional support animals) and how to get involved. You will also get the opportunity to meet a Puppy Jake service dog in training.
