Get into the festive spirit with local author M. Wayne Clark, who will visit the library to give his presentation Everyone Has A Story.
Everyone of us has a reservoir of memories. Stories are memories real or imagined that come alive when we put them into words and speak them aloud. During our time together, I will talk about how, without really knowing it, we are creating and telling stories that reveal who and what we are.
Mr. Clark has penned two Christmas books, Christmas in Stories and Potato Christmas and will be available to sign copies of his books. Christmas in Stories is for those who yearn to be drawn back into the deeper meaning of the season. Each story is poised to greet readers (young and old) who will turn these pages throughout the Christmas season. The stories are heard best if read aloud by a grandparent to a child or by a child reading to a parent who sets aside the busyness of the season and listens with an open heart.
Potato Christmas is a most unusual story. The setting is a rural community in Ireland at the tail end of the Potato Famine (1845-1851) and a few years following the famine and how it relates to the Christmas story.
Mr. Clark's books are also available for checkout in our fiction section.
